Alex Caldwell

A seventh generation Floridian, Alex was born right here in Ft. Myers. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Religion from Harding University in 2007. Alex’s first priority is his family. He and his wife Heather have a little boy named Teddy, and they enjoy spending their free time together. He also enjoys attending church, reading, and boating. Alex has been an educator in the public school system for seven years and is excited to continue his journey as a registered trainee appraiser at Maxwell, Hendry & Simmons, LLC since 2015.

Matthew Caldwell

Matt is a seventh generation Floridian born in Gainesville and he was raised in Lee County, earned his Associate’s degree from Edison State College and his Bachelor’s degree in History from Florida Gulf Coast University. Matt began professionally within the appraisal industry in 2002 and joined the firm in 2004. Matt is also experienced in litigation related appraisal services for both residential and commercial property types and is qualified as an expert witness in multiple jurisdictions, including the Florida District Court: 20th Judicial Circuit, and U.S. District Court: Middle District of Florida. He currently serves as a Member of the Florida House of Representatives. First elected in 2010, Matt has served on several committees during his tenure in the Florida House, including transportation, tax policy, agriculture, natural resources, redistricting, insurance, banking, and local government & federal government affairs. He is currently the chairman of the Government Accountability Committee.

Jeff Cooper

Jeff is originally from New Jersey and grew up in New York. While working in the real estate rental business in Manhattan, he decided to escape the northern city life and relocate to Florida. He’s worked in the appraisal industry in here since 1977 and joined Maxwell, Hendry & Simmons in 2015. Jeff holds an Associate’s degree from Suffolk County Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. Jeff also holds a real estate broker license and has experience with appraisal quality compliance as a former Vice President of a large mortgage lending institution. Jeff has worked as a research analyst for a large commercial brokerage, is a HUD/FHA approved appraiser, and is qualified as an expert witness in Florida District Court: 20th Judicial Circuit, and U.S. District Court: Middle District of Florida.

Susan Grosvenor 

Susan is a native Floridian, having been born in Stuart and raised in Naples and Boca Raton. She enjoys spending time with family, painting, movies, and being outdoors. Susan attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and began her work in the appraisal industry with a national Appraisal Management Company based in Pennsylvania. She relocated back to Southwest Florida in 1999. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Susan worked in appraisal and real estate brokerage in Lee and Collier Counties. In addition to her AMC background, she has worked with the two largest appraisal firms in the country. Susan is a HUD/FHA approved appraiser and also holds a real estate sales associate license. Though her experience includes work throughout Southwest Florida, Susan has specific expertise within the Collier County and south Lee County market areas.

K. Jacob Hutchings, MAI

Jacob hails from the Hoosier State, Indiana, but has called Southwest Florida home since 2000. He enjoys an active lifestyle that includes triathlons, cycling, and playing basketball.  Jacob earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida Gulf Coast University.  He began his work within the field of real estate appraisal in 2007 when he joined the firm. Jacob’s education includes intensive coursework completed through the Appraisal Institute. His expertise includes large and complex multi-tenant retail and office properties and forensic analysis for condemnation valuation. Jacob is also an active member of the Real Estate Investment Society and is qualified as an expert witness in Florida District Court, 20th Judicial Circuit.

Abby Joyce 

Abby was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was transplanted to Southwest Florida via Florida Gulf Coast University. She enjoys going to the beach, snow skiing, and spending time with family. Having an interest in real estate and knowing that she wanted to pursue it as a career, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Finance from FGCU with a minor in real estate. Abby joined the firm in 2015 through its internship program with FGCU. Since that time, she’s contributed to the development of many of the firms’ external market publications and studies. She now practices with an appraisal license in both the residential and commercial divisions.

Bill McInnis 

Bill is a third generation Floridian from Bradenton, and enjoys spending time with grandchildren, fishing, and playing golf. He earned his Associate's degree from Manatee Junior College and his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. Bill joined the firm in 1983 after starting professionally in the financial industry in 1972 as a staff appraiser with First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Fort Myers. His valuation education includes a variety of courses administered through the Appraisal Institute, the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, and the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. Bill focuses on commercial, industrial, and various agricultural use properties. He also specializes in rural market areas surrounding Southwest Florida and is qualified as an expert witness in Florida District Court, 20th Judicial Circuit.

Kathy Raub 

Kathy is a native Floridian, born in Miami and raised in Naples. She enjoys outdoor recreation including fishing and boating. Kathy attended Edison State College, began her work in the appraisal profession in 2003, and joined the firm as an associate in 2016. Her entrance into real estate was influenced by her family history in general contracting and real estate sales in Collier County dating back to the 1980’s. This background introduced Kathy to several professional positions in construction businesses prior to her becoming an appraiser. Her experience includes residential valuation in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, and Sarasota counties. Kathy is a HUD/FHA approved appraiser and is qualified as an expert witness in Florida District Court, 20th Judicial Circuit.

Christopher Reublin 

Chris was born in Columbus, Ohio, but has lived in Southwest Florida since 1981. He began his work within the appraisal profession in 2004 and joined the firm in 2006. He holds an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design from Bauder College, and was a musician and songwriter with a successful rock band in the 1980’s and 1990’s. After leaving the music business, Chris owned a respected Lee and Collier County construction company, with projects featured in Dream Home Magazine. His years running that company have given him valuable knowledge in construction industry techniques and costs. Chris has been instrumental in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the firms’ in-house comparable sales database. His work also includes economic research, market area analysis, and statistical compilation for both the internal and external publications of the firm. Given his analytical and statistical expertise, Chris specializes in partial interest, eminent domain, and litigation support services.

Timothy Rieckhoff

Tim relocated to Fort Myers with his family from Cincinnati, Ohio in 1964.  He earned his Associate’s degree from Edison Community College in 1973 and his Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Florida in 1975.  Tim joined the firm in 1983 and his professional education includes courses completed through the Appraisal Institute.  He’s also an avid investor and a member of Commercial Investment Professionals of Southwest Florida (CIP).  Tim also holds a real estate broker license and is an instrument rated, private pilot (currently non-active).  He is an Honorary Member of the Fort Myers Flying Club (over 40 years).  His specialized expertise includes complex, multi-tenant commercial properties and aviation oriented properties. His aviation work includes municipal, regional, and international airport valuations and rental studies including airside and non-airside properties.  Tim is also qualified as an expert witness in Florida District Court, 20th Judicial Circuit.

Scott Simmons

Scott is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, but moved to Fort Myers in 1984. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and has also lived in the metro Atlanta area. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, biking, and kayaking throughout Southwest Florida. He began his work in the appraisal field in 2003 and joined the firm in 2005. Scott’s appraisal education includes coursework through the Appraisal Institute and the Academy of Real Estate in Fort Myers. He is also a HUD/FHA approved appraiser and holds a real estate sales associate license. Though his experience includes work throughout Southwest and Central Florida, Scott has specific expertise within the Glades County, Hendry County, and east Lee County market areas.

Bruce A. Stephan, MAI, SRA

Bruce is a native Floridian, born in Miami. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a major in real estate, from Florida State University in 1974 and moved to Fort Myers in 1975 to begin his appraisal career at Gulf Federal Savings and Loan Association. Bruce enjoys boating in the Bahamas, fishing, scuba diving, traveling, and biking. Over the course of his career, he has founded three successful Southwest Florida real estate appraisal firms, and in 2017 he joined Maxwell, Hendry & Simmons as a Senior Appraiser. Bruce holds the most highly regarded designations within the appraisal profession, the MAI and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute. He is experienced in a variety of commercial valuation disciplines including investment analysis, commercial lease review, evaluation of tenant credit risk, and operating income analysis. Bruce is heavily involved in the community and has served on the Board of Directors for the Real Estate Investment Society, as an Elder with Covenant Presbyterian Church, and as a consultant and volunteer with a number of community organizations including Hope Hospice, Habitat for Humanity, the Junior League of Fort Myers, and the Rotary Club of Fort Myers. Bruce also holds a real estate broker license in Florida and is qualified as an expert witness in Florida District Court: 20th Judicial Circuit.
