Gerald began his professional career within the appraisal industry in 1994 when he joined the firm. He specializes in complex income producing properties, subdivision analysis, and litigation related appraisals and support services. Gerald also reviews appraisal assignments produced by the commercial division. Hendry was named a partner in 2003 and the firm name was changed to Maxwell & Hendry Valuation Services. In addition to his appraisal certification, Gerald holds a real estate broker license. He possesses an MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and the CCIM designation from the CCIM Institute; dual designations held by very few professionals in the state of Florida.
Gerald has served as a Special Magistrate for the Lee County Value Adjustment Board and is qualified as an expert witness in Florida District Court, 20th Judicial Circuit. He is a former member of the Lee County Horizon Council and has served as a guest lecturer at Florida Gulf Coast University, Lutgert College of Business. Hendry also served on the Board of Governors and as the President of the Real Estate Investment Society. Regionally, he has served on the Board of Directors and as the Chapter President for the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.
